Fall Fun in Dekalb County: A Guide to Events This Week (September 27th-29th) and Beyond (October 1st-3rd)
Get ready for a week packed with fun in Dekalb County! From a lively county fair to spooky crafts and literary gatherings, there’s something for everyone.
Auburn Calling!
This week’s highlight is definitely the Dekalb County Fair at the fairgrounds (Sept 27th-29th). Enjoy carnival rides, delicious food, livestock shows, and live music! Catch the Pet Parade on Friday morning and the Grand Finale Parade on Saturday. Top it all off with a rocking concert featuring Forever Seger (Friday) or Henry Lee Summer with Dane Clark (Saturday).
Looking for more live music? Head to Byler Lane Winery! Woah Nellie brings the tunes on Friday, followed by a Dueling Pianos Show on Saturday, and The Fleetwoods close out the weekend on Sunday.
Calling all Bookworms! Eckhart Public Library has a variety of events planned. Join Stories & Streaming for a fun mix of listening to a children’s book and watching the movie adaptation (starts Oct 1st). Teens can unleash their creativity at Teen Baking sessions (starts Oct 3rd) or spooky Halloween Crafting workshops (starts Oct 1st). Adults can discuss books with a beer at Brews+Books at Auburn Brewing Company (Oct 3rd).
Feeling Creative? Take an art class with Surprise Art with Anna at Auburn Parks and Recreation (Oct 1st), or join the Knifty Knitters Club at Eckhart Public Library (Oct 3rd).
Looking for a Thought-provoking Discussion? Attend the Business & Economy-Community Impact Forum at McIntyre Place on October 1st. The Third Annual Minerva on Main (Oct 2nd) celebrates exceptional women in the community. You can also find support at the Hope For Mental Health YMCA gathering on October 3rd.
