Auburn Calling:Old cars

  • This weekend (September 20th-22nd) is all about celebrating Auburn’s car culture! The Auburn, It’s More Than Just Cars Plein Air Paint Out & Sale lets artists capture the essence of the city, including the iconic Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. You can even watch them paint during the museum’s Cars & Coffee  event on Saturday morning.
  • While you’re at the museum, check out their Educator Open House Weekend  (September 21st-22nd) – a special opportunity for teachers to learn about resources for their classrooms.
  • Speaking of art, Eckhart Public Library is hosting Plein Art eckhART  in the park on Saturday. Grab some supplies and get creative outdoors!
  • Feeling young again? Join Auburn Parks and Recreation’s Feel Young Again Lunch & Recess  on Saturday for classic playground games and a 90s-inspired lunch.
  • And of course, no weekend in Auburn is complete without a visit to the Eckhart Public Library. This week, they’ve got a variety of programs for all ages, including storytime, fingerprinting services, and activities for teens and young adults.

Beyond Auburn:

  • Craving pancakes? Head to Waterloo/Grant Township Vol Fire Department’s annual Pancake Sausage Supper  on Saturday for a delicious all-you-can-eat meal.
  • The Dekalb County Fair  kicks off on Monday (September 23rd) and runs all week long. Get ready for livestock shows, carnival rides, live music, and more!
  • Eckhart Public Library continues its homeschool programs next week with Eckhart Envoys  (exploring world cultures) and Social Science Surveyors  (learning about journalism).
